We Got to Talking

So marketing/design guru Marlon and I got to talking over lunch today…and we have some ideas for CNM going forward.

I think it’s truly incredible that CNM has stood as a convener, partner and leader in the nonprofit sector for three decades now. We do incredible work here and I think people need to know about it.

But we know that we could improve the way we tell the public about who we are.

When I first logged onto CNMsocal.org it took me a decent amount of time to realize what CNM was. Our website felt sterile and out-of-touch. It wasn’t until I stepped into CNM’s doors (well we don’t really have doors…the California Endowment is too state of the art for that!) that I grasped how IN-TOUCH this organization is. The people here are a wave of positive change. They’re all about empowering nonprofits by helping them with the tools, information and ideas to help them work smarter, instead of harder. Because this industry is all about doing more with less.

So we want to do an overhaul. We want CNM’s public image to reflect the passion that lives in these hallways and in this vast community.

To help us get there, we’d love your suggestions. We’d love your feedback and we’d love your ideas. Everything we do has you guys in mind, so now we’re looking to understand what we can do better. And what we do well.

Lots of love on this sunny Friday in downtown Los Angeles.

Here’s to looking ahead.
